any body got sugestions on what what be a good donor car, for seats for a 50 chevy 2/dr sedan. putting one together for my wife who is 5ft. so would like them to be electric and very adjustable

My first body job was a 50 chevy, damn engine ran so quiet you couldn't hear it, had to see the fan turning to know if it was running. Anyway, I put a set of swivel buckets in mine out of a GTO. I would think you could use a set of buckets out of a t-bird that are electic. I set mine up to where I wanted them with blocks, then took measurements, then tig welded extentions so they bolted right in. I sure miss that car! Good luck!

I did some junk yarding this past weekend and saw two that looked real nice. Lexus and Mazda 929. The Mazda hada wrap around back seat sort of. I hate to say it, but check out the imports.

If you can find em, honda accord seats are awful nice and comfortable. Also, they meet the main requirement for these old narrow rides, they're fairly small and narrow. Ebay has a good selection of all types. Just type in "leather seats" and you can find all sizes and types, both front and back pulled from wrecks at boneyards.

I like Fiero seats.. Good bolster support, speakers in the headrest. The sliders are flat so you can bolt 'em into anything with a flat floor although you'd likely need to build a riser for most vehicles. The factory speakers aren't that great, but they can be easily replaced. Check out <a href="http://www.mrmikes.com" target="_blank">www.mrmikes.com</a> for leather covers.

I just got some buckets from an Eddie Bauer Explorer for my 'Burb, 6-way power, electric lumbar and bolster. Seat base was very easy to modify for a flat floor.

The newer lincoln town cars have nnnice seats, fully adjustable and they don't look out of place like bucket seats do.

saw an article in one of my car mags, they were impressed with a cadillac seat, had built in shoulder and lap harness. i think it was in a 30s roadster, i'll see if i can find it.
