Buddy of mine has a 54 Caddy with less than desirable brakes. Brakes have been bled on all four corners and mater cylinder totally rebuilt. Brakes are good but then seam to get air in them and pedal gets spongy. Any ideas besides Flintstones style brakes??? Thanks

Did you allow the master cylinder to run dry when bleeding? Does the master cylinder have bleeder valves on it? Are you sure all your fittings are tight? (I know I know but haven't we all left one a little loose before)

Those old single reservoir master cylinders are prone to not sealing real well. I know, my Pontiac still has one. When he rebuilt it, did he hone it out good enough?..There may still be pitting in the cylinder.

I think that I would look into a later model dual cylinder, if just for the safety factor. I need to do that on the old Poncho too.

Did he kit the wheel cylinders? Check for leakage on the backing plates. Dan
