Why the Cadillac?

They are large, bulky and long.

Most folks use a GM van tilt or a mid 60's GM car column from a mid size.

Hooking a different column to your steering box (stock 55) will require some cutting .

What kind of useage for your pickup are we talking about and what modifications have made OR planning to make.

Engine/trans ect.

column

I was thinking caddie only for the telescopic along w/ the tilt.
The truck has a ford 390 w/ auto trans also it has a mustang II
front end with rack & pinion.

OK .that's cool.........

Flaming River and others make U-joints to hook up the Cadillac column to the Pinto/MustangII rack. I would get the column where I wanted it.up/down/sideways/in/out and make brackets to hold it. Then secure it at the floor area.....being careful and mindful of the shifting linkage. Them 390's are wide.

You will need at least 2 U-joints IMHO to make it to the rack stub. Maybe 3.

You may need a Support bearing too.....

DO NOT forget to hook up the neutral safety switch :D
