Hello fellow Hotrodders! Im at the stage in my restoration where im doing the doors. i already removed the vent window, door glass, and window regulator. how do i get that pesky "V" off the door for paint? i believe its rivited in. i cannot reach the backside to grind them off and i dont want to pry the v off because i will blow out the sheet metal around the rivets. i really dont want to paint around the v because thats just not my level of professionalism. how do i do this?

owned 6 task force trucks over the years, looked at many many more.
i have never noticed a V on any door, so i googled it.
i only see it on the cameos from what i found.
no idea how to get it off but it's probably not riveted on, gm didn't rivet much back then

im kind of embarassed, it was just 2 bolts and it was really easy. if i wouldnt have been in such a hurry i would have seen that.

if it came stock with a v8 then it came with a v on the door. google image "stock 57 chevy truck v8" and youl see some examples. it was more common on the fleet sides and cameos but also came on the step sides.

thanks for your responses
