Where is a good place to get a decent starter for a 60's chevy inline 6 cylinder? Are there any reputable business specializing in offering remanufactured units? I am looking for something good, not junk. Prefer to keep my old one and purchase a rebuilt outright.

Thanks

I go to NAPA for that sort of thing...Another thing is to make a good relation with your parts guy..He will be more helpful in that case..

Why not just fix the one you have. What is wrong with it.
The current starter works fine. ...........just looks grungy against the engine which I painted a couple of years ago. Yeah, I could take it apart and clean it up some but I am not going to replate anything. I went ahead an bought a rebuilt one from NAPA and it looks great. I applied a satin clear coat to all painted, plated and raw aluminum surfaces so that they stay looking good. I am keeping the old one for future rebuild if necessary.
