Does anyone know if there are headers available that fit a BB 67 camaro, with power steering? Most of the big name manufacturers have them but if and how they fit in real life is another story as we all know. Haven't called around yet but this is something for my wish list. The rusted tubes I have had to be pursuaded to fit around the steering box. I want to get jet hot coated headers but don't want to scratch them up or struggle to get them installed. Tried other coatings that didn't last too long. Anyone have good luck with this coating? Is it worth it??

Hooker makes them. That doesn't necessarily mean they will fit perfectly, but they make them.

Just so you know, that shiny coating turns to a dull silver after about ten minutes of running.

I looked at them before but never tried them. Heard they were good. Did you use any jet-hot coated headers? Curious if it's worth the $$. They claim the headers retain more of the heat and the coating remains the same after....hours. Wondering if it was just marketing hype or what.

G/J- Try a little steel wool. It brightens them back up. When they come out of the oven, they have to be polished. The whole pipe look just like yours does. Breaking a cam is rough on the coatings, huh?

I've installed a lot of coated headers, as far as I know there has not been any problems with them. If they darken some, they can be cleaned up and look like new again. My self I like stainless steel, no rust ever.

I like the stainless too. I have all s.s. exhaust on my old vette. The camaro I am just cleaning up a bit here and there and doing a few other mods. Nice picture!

header coating

Hooker does not use Jet Hot to ceramic coat their headers. Its done in Mexico.I had a problem with these headers blistering and contacted Hooker. I've used dyno Max brand on a 71 Chevelle and they use Jet Hot brand. They stayed shiny and did not blister or rust

I also have used the DynoMax headders ceramic coated on my corvette they stayed looking good.like anything else every now and then you have to get in there a do some polishing. I really like the hooker headders i myself havent had any problems with them.but i have been hearing others say tht they have. cole
