My family has a 68' Camaro Z28 that is in need of complete restoration. It has been in my dads family since 1970 and has a lot of sentimental value to our family. I have a lot of question about doing the frame of restoration at they are starting with the frame.

1.We recently bought a sand blaster from princess auto to sand blast the frame. What type of sand or media blasting powder should be used to sand blast the frame, frame components and control arms?

2. I want this to be a show car that wont get driven very often and I was wonder what type of chassis and rust paint to use on the frame after being sandblasted. Ive always thought POR 15 was good, but Ive read reviews and have heard more bad things then good....

You want to use black epoxy primer and a urethane SS flat black paint.

You REALLY need to get over to the Team Camaro site Team Camaro Technical Question & Answer Forum - Camaros.net for your restoration questions. You do realize that car is VERY valuable and you want it done right. Not that there are guys here who know a lot about Camaros and certainly there are plenty here with a lot of knowledge on general restoration but your Camaro specific questions are best answered at Team Camaro. And with a car that special,I would say most every question you have should be regarded as "Camaro Specific".

Brian, Thanks for the reply. Yes I know this car is very valuable. It has been in my dads family for a very long time and this being said, I am a hobbiest and car enthusiast,thats why I want to do everything the right way and properly restore it.
