after i rebuilt my 700r4 i did a test drive about 2-3 miles. Drive and reverse work great but 2 D and OD take alittle to kick in. I was wanting to know if that was becouse of the rebuild needing to break in the new steels and clutchs. I checked the fluid after the test drive and it looks about a quart low from i guess the fluid getting in the trans. INFO PLZ

same tv calbe its not a kick down problem its just taking some time to shift into other gears. Its also alittle hard to tell if its doing anything right im running open headers.

Improperly adjusted TV cable does this. It "hangs" a bit long before shifting and will burn up in no time.

There is a cable attachment bracket behind the throttle lever.

On the cable close to this bracket is a "D' shaped button.
This is used to adjust the stock cable.
At wide open throttle the cable should not be able to pull forward any amount. I check this by slipping the tv cable attachment off the bellcrank, I then crank the throttle lever WOT and pull the tv cable all the way forward beside the attachment point. This gives a good idea if its close or not.
It will also show if it would "stop" the throttle lever from being pulled to WOT.

The cable also is not allowed to stop the throttle from achieving WOT.

There is only one setting. Its not really an adjustment.

The tv/kickdown cable is tight a WOT noting to be adjusted their. I am thinking that fluid just hasnt got into everything yet i did only drive it a mile at most becouse of the exhaust. I did clean out the trans cooler and whole transmission and after my test drive it was a quart low. I will have to get some flex pipe for the exhaust so i can test drive it longer to see how everything is working.
