okay I've been hearing to and fro about some type of governer on my tranny? or my enigine? I'm not quite sure to be perfectly honest. I know it's not anywhere noticible on the carb I think it's on the tranny. well anyways I have a 1984 Z28 Camaro with a 700R4 but I was told that I could hit like 150mph stock if I took this governor off. is this true? or is someone just bsing me.

Did they mention anything about a bridge for sale?
The transmission does have a governor that does just what it says.
It governs when and at what speed the transmission will shift.
Without it there wouldn't be any shift and the top speed would be zippo.
Tell your friend you are going to weld a 3' extension onto your gas pedal.
Same difference.
An engine will only rev so high. No more no less.
Higher revving engines have shorter cranshaft strokes.
