I'm looking for info/pictures of late 70's ford explorer pick ups that had those real funky paint schemes. The truck was one color, say black, then there would be two red stripes going down the side of the truck and meeting at the back. It said 'explorer' on the back fender where it is now cool to say 4x4. They also had vinyl seats with plaid inserts, and matching red wheel covers. Please someone tell me I'm not the only one in the world that loves these trucks.

Have you tried using one of them fancy new things called a 'search engine'?

I don't reply to every post...I just point out the obvious on some.
Sorry for the 'snippy' reply...but too many times do I get on here and there are people that want everyone else to do their legwork for them...Some people act like they have never heard of a search engine. This is a very helpful site...once again I apologize.
Try <a href="http://www.ford-trucks.com/pictorial/index.html" target="_blank">here</a>
or <a href="http://groups.yahoo.com/search?query=ford%20truck&ss=1" target="_blank">here</a>.
Both of these sites are very helpful.

Thanks guys, I actually had checked out those sites (along with a few more) before i came here and was surprised to not find a single one. I know where one is not too far from me but it has been a wisconsin truck its whole life and is a good wood hauler at best. I'll keep looking....
