The only question I have about installing the intake is using the cork China Wall gaskets that came with the gasket set.. should I use them or just put a really thick bead of RTV on the China walls ?
I like the thick bead of RTV myself, but you have to have everything cleaned with carb cleaner and completely dry or the RTV won't stick. I gave you detailed specific instructions a while back.
If you do want to use the corks, then glue them onto the block with hi-tack gasket cement (so they won't move or squeeze out) and just put a dab of RTV in the 4 corners where they meet the intake gasket.

This sounds more assuring than a big bead of RTV.

Can I use this stuff to hold the intake manifold gaskets on too, for intake manifold installation ?

Which kind should I get, liquid or glue stick ?

The can is the traditional kind of high tack. Don't know anything about the stick. Don't stick the intake gaskets with this stuff - only the end seals. Just a little tiny dab of RTV in each of the four corners where the intake gasket meets the end seal. The intake gaskets will sit there by themselves once you have the end seals glued in place with the high tack stuff.

If the diameter fits the manifold and the exhaust pipe, it's all good.
Fit the exhaust pipe pretty good, but I don't know about the manifold part of it, seems as if the manifold sits on top of the donut gasket, while it rests perfectly on the exhaust pipe.

I had short bolts and long bolts in the kit I bought. The short bolts I attempted to use first but they were too short, couldn't get the brass nuts started...so I used the longer bolts instead... I'm amazed how the previous owner managed to sandwich in the older and bigger donut using the short bolts, which is why everything was loose on the passenger side...

I'll use the can type then...

I need to scrape up some extra cash to buy it today maybe, and the fuel pump gasket, and go pull a missing starter bolt from the salvage yard I lost somehow in this process. So far that's all I'm missing...

They also have this tube type...

Between the can and the tube, which one best suits my needs ?

Only one I have experience with is the can.

Just so you know, this is probably the stuff your pan gasket was stuck on with. (with apparently excessive amounts!)

Are you sure you actually need a donut? Looks like the manifold already has a sealing bevel (donut) built into it. Some were like that. How does it fit the pipe without the donut? Look at the photo where the new donut is sitting on top. Seems like the previous owner put an extra part in there, and that's why the studs weren't long enough?

You mean there possibly shouldn't be any gasket between the exhaust pipe and manifold ?

The drivers side has one I believe, just not as big as the passenger side had, I think...I'll have to review the video I shared of it.

I ended up using the tube, yellow sticky stuff...used it on the china walls only and pressed the china wall gaskets down.

I set the intake manifold gaskets down dry to have a look at things before I set the manifold down on it and snug it down for 15 minutes before torquing it down to specs...

Looks like I need to cut the back china wall gasket just a bit to lay down the passenger side intake manifold gasket tab flush.

I'll get this taken care of and the valley cleaned out and everything ready for intake manifold install.
