I've got an 85 4 bolt main , steel crank block w/ 11 to 1 pistons . Using the 462624 head my C.R will be 9 to 1 . This is what I want.
Can the 95 LT-1 heads be used ? the 624's are 73 cc , thats what droped the C.R. to 9.
Also , what about the cooling for this head swap ?

Nope, no way, no how.

Wrong water passages, different heads altogether.

The Vortec heads have 64cc chambers and identical ports to the LT1, so same potential, but they bolt up

Is there any thing thing that I can do to make them work ?
the heads are free, so some mods would be OK. :smash:

Not practically. It involves welding water passages shut, drilling new ones, resurfacing the heads, and moving head bolts. Put it this way... you could do it for the same amount of work and money as it would take to put LS1 heads on an SBC. You'd spend thousands on the LT1 heads, just to get heads that perform the same as $300 Vortecs.

The LT1 heads are worth money. Accept them, sell them, and then buy SBC heads
