Im pretty sure I need to replace my positive battery cable. Slow cranks when hot.
But I noticed a small wire coming out of the positive cable, going to the alt. With a fuse link in it.

No problem, but I cant seem to find the right replacement cable. Ive only found some that have an alt wire with no fuse.

I'd hate to have to cob something together. Thats partially why im prolly in this pickle to begin with. Someone making their own cables. :boxing:

As long as the new one has a pig tail on it..... no problem...... place some srink wrap on the new pig tail, use a butt connector with the plastic removed, crimp the new pig tail on the old fuseable link, soder, then slide the shrink wrap over the whole thing, heat and you're done.

I doubt the cable is your problem unless the ends are bad. It sounds more like heat soak of the starter or your timing needs adjusted if it's only hard to start after it gets hot.

I managed to find the proper battery cable by pure luck.

AC Delco really needs a 'part# vs vehicle application' search feature! Amazon actually had the best vehicle filter out of many part sites I searched.

Amazon.com: ACDelco 2SX41F1 Battery Cable: Automotive

Ordered today.

Also, this is the 3rd starter. With no change in hot starts. So rules out the starter.
