I've heard some racers dip their metal body panels in acid removing some thickness, and thus, some weight. Anyone know the kind of weight savings one could expect for a mid-sized car and whether its suitable for a uni-body car? Thanks.
Its definatly not recomended for unibody cars. The strength in a unibody car is the body so if you remove some of the body you will also remove strength. Save weight in another place like fiberglass or carbon fiber panels, don't weaken the steel.
