I'm designing a small off-road buggy and can't seem to figure out how to measure the ackerman when the rack is mounted if front of the front wheel centerline.
All the sites I've been on, only show examples of the rack mounted rear ward of the wheel centerline.

A close approximation would be to project a line originating from the center of the tie rod hole on the steering arm, past the centerline of the lower ball joint toward the rear. If when doing this on both sides the lines meet at or near the center of the rear axle you are in the ballpark. This technique does not factor in the caster or king pin inclination angle in the front end, but you will know if you are on the right track.
