I was just wondering what would be the advantage of having stainless steel brake and fuel lines for my '47 chevy fleetline? Can they be polished to look like chrome? Thanks...
HEY DJ: It is an image thing. SS will not rust or discolor and it can be polished to look just like chrome finish. What you will find is a cost factor as they are expensive. Look at www.performanceplumbing.com and www.godmanhiperformance.com .....GOOD LUCK....DAVE
it certainly must be a appearance thing. I was wondering about polishing them too give them that chrome appearance but ity may be too tedious to do. What do you think?
I have braided SS brake lines and they are proven to reduce braking distance, increase response, and are very resilliant to line blow out. They are a bit more money. I paid $120 for a full set.
I got my set made for my car from a company called Earl's. They made the set for my car with all of the fittings and cut to exact fit length.
