86 chevy swb fleetside (soon to be chopped 5 inches and lowered a couple more) pickup...I put a rebuilt 350 chevy small blck in it, new transmission, going to put higher gears in it, customizing tail gate so it opens like double doors, new double cowl induction hood,new billet grill, got my eye on some rims to replace my mags that i dont like. im thinking of doing the interior to match the carpet on a box that i installed last weekend behind the seat (which is a tan color). but i really want to do the interior white to accent the black lights that im ordering. i want to paint the exterior black and have the interior solid white. im going to make a custom dash (gotta b different, u know how that is) and carpet it as well as the entire enterior. would the black exterior w/flames (any ideas on colors? i want blue and purple) make a good contrast to the solid white interior? oh i want to get a new bench seat with a fold-down console too. gotta get that recovered whenever i find one. i am putting a lot of time and money into this truck. it is a street truck, has a small cam in it, and soon i will have new gauges (flamed, or digital, or both if i can find it) and make the change to power locks, windows, maybe shaved handles and definately switch to fuel injection. i am going to get a bed cover and carpet the bed and the underside of the bed cover. i am thinking about shaving the tailgate and getting a roll pan w/cadillac or corvette tail lights and maybe turning the (gas tank)filler hose and putting the door inside the bed. but i dont know b/c of the carpet. dont wanna spill gas on it. please send me emails to [email protected] or [email protected] with ANY ideas, do's or dont's, questions or comments, and lots of advice. it will not fall on deaf ears.
