Aftermarket Rpm Gauge

I have an 89 s15 with a 350SB TBI and a 700R4 tranny beileved to be outta an 85-91 Silverado. Was woundering how u hook up an aftermarket RPM gauge? Is it hard to do? I dont have a stock one and would like to know where im shifting at and what im redlining at?? Thinking about going with an AutoMeter?
