Search Craigslist for a good used compressor. I had terrible luck with a 3hp Harbor Freight oilless compressor I bought to replace an old Craftsman 2hp belt driven compressor that had developed a rod knock. The reality was that the HF compressor was far noisier than the Craftsman and struggled to run air tools that the Craftsman ran with ease. I ended up giving the HF unit away. I found an old 5hp belt drive on Craigslist for $150. It's been wonderful. All it needed was a new belt. There are deals out there if you're patient and do a little searching.

Yea im keeping my eyes out on there to find a belt drive 20-30 gallon tank i seen a few so we will see

I spray a lot with a cheap comp. - but I have and old tank from a comp. I had years ago and have the two tanks plumbed together for a lot of volume - takes a while to fill but the comp. does not need to run all the time with the two tanks - just a thought.

How you plumb 2 tanks together? And when you do so do they need to be the same size tank?

There are apparently low volume low pressure guns now that use far less than 10cfm vs hvlp being 12cfm plus depending on brand design.
