Unfortunately there is not too many ways to take them out. I usually start from the back and wok my way forward. Loosen up and take off any pillars that are in the way, Then I hit the visors, and any coat hooks/grab handles. Last I usuall use a putty knife to peel back the inside edge guards and remove the headliner, shell and all. Don't forget the interior light. Be careful disconnecting this, I usually tape off the connections/remove fuse.
When installing, I put the screws back in their holes by a few threads first, and I dont cut the fabric on the headliner where things screw into. Once the headliner is up and looks to be in the right spot, I feel around for the screws(through the fabric) with a screwdriver and then poke holes in the fabric. Then you can mount your accesories. This prevents cutting too much before you put the headliner in. Be careful not to cut too little, you don't want the screw heads to catch the material and tear it.
When putting on the fabric start from the middle and work your way out to avoid wrinkles. It sounds worse than it is.
