Would like to know how much advancement I can run with my Dart heads without any real concern of detonation. I was told that I could run as much as 42 degrees with the aluminum heads because they run cooler and have better resistance to detonation. Would be grateful for any advise. Thank you!

This is a question we will not be able to answer. You are correct that the aluminum heads will allow more advance, but so many other things come into play. If you use NOS you will have to retard usually, also if you have a higher operating temperature you would have to retard. But you will have to experiment. Be sure to pull plugs and look out for metal splatter. You will not always be able to hear detonation at higher rpms though this is not where detonation usually occurs. Unless this is all about winning at all costs, don't take the risk of ruining the heads/pistons by over advancing.
