Hi All , Anyone here mess with fiberglass ? Pic 1 is what I have now.

Using a paint program I got my step daughter to modify the pic for me to show sort of what I'm looking to do . this is the first shot and not to bad.

Here's sorta what I want

With it sorta looking like this .

Now I ask can you heat fiberglass and get it to bend ? Any suggestions welcome . Also the paint on the hood ,the Orange is Valspar AE the red is Nason SE trying to make a color choice. I'm leaning toward the Orange .

Thanks & Take Care
Earl

I don't know about bending it with heat but you could makes some slices in the part so it will bend to the shape you need, clamp it in the right position and glass it back up. There's a few good glass guys on here-hopefully they'll shed more info on the heat. Bob

Fiberglass

I think you will do better to cut and re-glass. I tried to bend a windshield flange on a fiberglass race car body with heat as a quick fix and it doesn't work. But leave a panel distorted in the sun and it goes out of shape, it comes back slowly. Glass is best left unstressed in it's original as formed shape.
