I may be working on a couple of 37 - 38 Ford flatbed trucks to be used on a farm. Never intended to drive much faster than parade speeds. Not intended to be licensed for the road.

I remember my Dad telling me about how hard those mechanical brakes can be. These trucks have been sitting for a while. I have never worked on mechanicals and converting everything to hydraulic is not an option.

Any tips you can give a new guy as to what to look for, where to lube, or anything else I can't begin to know to ask about?

I just want it to stop when I press the pedal. That's not too much to ask, is it?
