Hey everyone,

Just curious if anyone has any info on this flatbed. I have never seen one like it before. Its very well made with all the welds ground down and all stainless hardware. The welds on the diamond plate tubs are nearly perfect also. Its on my 58 Chevy.

hundreds of fab shops

there are hundreds of small local fab shops that build custom truck beds, and small trailers. Or It could be a one off by the previous owner.

Looks very good, but i wonder why not just raise it a little? This way there is no need for wheel tubs.

It looks custom built. Probably for a special application. Any signs that it might have been used to tow a low fifth wheel?

Since the picture was taken I have re-finished the bed and truck. It was made from 1-1/4 or 1-1/2 plywood. There are no unused holes or re-welds anywhere on the frame or bed so I don't think it was ever used for a 5th wheel but the low height sure makes it easy to load up. The bed matches up to the frame perfectly so I'm pretty sure it was made for the truck. Or at least that era of trucks.
