anyone out there know where I can find info on VINs on old Chrysler products? Have a Chrysler Windsor 2dr I'm told it is a 1951 model (don't have a title) and I would like to sell it, but don't want to misrepresent the car. It's a pretty nice looking car and I think it would make an incredible custom lead sled. I would appreciate any help from anyone that knows these cars. Can anyone help me out here?

The VIN number is stamped into the side of the engine block(6cylinder) on a machined boss near the distributor. The First letter will be a "C" then the series number (like 39) then the sequential build number.

OK but how do I identify the year etc? are there any sites you're aware of that have a vin decoder for a car like this? BTW the engine is the spitfire 6 cyl Does that help at all? again any help is greatly appreciated

The '40 Desoto I just finished has a tag on the firewall and one on the front passenger door A pillar. It gives year and model #.
