Got to love that trenching. I just laid down 150 ft of gas line to my garage and it only took less then 2 hours from the time I left the rental place to the time I took it back. Grand total... 56 bucks and a happy back.
Just to show you what you can save by doing it yourself lets look over the figures.
Consumers wanted 200 dollars to set up plastic gas line with ends put on and the first 50 ft. of pipe included...not too bad until they tell you it's
8 dollars a foot after the 50 ft. By the way, I still would have had to put trench in for consumers.
I used 150 ft of pipe. If I used consumers it would have been $1000 for the pipe with me running the trench. I bought the pipe for $60 the ends were about $40 each. Including the cost of the trencher I have around $200 into the whole thing saving me $800.
