I'd like HP and Torque for a Chevy 327 with 10 to 1 compression, Dart Pro-1 heads, Dart "Kool Can" intake manifold, Speed Demon 650cfm carb, Comp Cams 270-H magnum series cam, Stan's Headers. MSD 6AL and MSD HEI dist. Thanks.

With a few more cubes you could be pretty streetable with 200. Mine is very streetable with great throttle response, but we're talking 60 cubes difference. I think you're right, beenaway, the 200's on a 327 would be pretty racey. If you had a manual trans, a bit of gear, a stall or a solid lift cam, any of those things (or a combination thereof) would be helpful and keep you on the street-

Well, the 327 will be going in a 78 El Camino. Transmission will be a 700r4. Rearend will have 3.73 gears. This is going too be a street car will balls, not a race car. My goal is not the fastest car on the streets, just a fun too drive car. Might go with a slightly smaller cam, but I do like a lope sitting at the stop light. I was thinking the Comp Cams 270-H magnum cam because Comp claims it's the largest cam too use with a stock torque converter. I also want too go with a 327 just because they are kind of rare, you don't see them everyday anymore. I kinda like the "old school" style street rods like from when I was a teenager. I thought of going with a 383 Stroker, but heck the stock 305 2bbl will bust'em loose, the rear of the El Camino's are so light anyways. I know it doesn't make sense to some people, but it's "classic" style to me. In all honesty, if I can make 300 ponies, I'll be thrilled.
