So ever since I installed the stroker everything has been pretty much peachy. My trans runs well and shifts decently... but I have to shift it manually. It will come back to 1st gear at a stop, or second gear if I slow down (car in drive) but if I accelerate from a stop I have to pull the shifter back to first, then push it forward into second before it will shift. Otherwise no go. What do you guys think the issue is?

The governor is located on the drivers side of the transmission just ahead of the speedometer connection.
Remove the snap ring and pry the cover off.
The governor can now be pulled straight out.
Check the plastic gear, it could be stripped or loose.
There is a valve inside that can stick.

Couldn't a faulty or unplugged modulator do the same thing?

the problem was clearly caused when I dropped the engine in. I did have to jack the trans and it did go sideways on me, shift linkage got bent, had to buy a new cable. Could this have been caused by the trans getting moved around?

I thought it was the vacuum mod.
