Setup is my vortec 350 lt4 hotcam 0411 pcm . When cranking it coughs up and backfires and spins the enigne counter clockwise. Anybody ever seen this. I believe it might be a mix of bad cmp or ckp sensors.
Looks like the distributor is not timed precisely getting the tooth mesh thus the timing off is a common issue.
Also, you can’t just change cams on EFI engines without reprogramming the computer the 0411 is no exception, it is not a plug it in and forget it situation.
I believe/hope I found my issue. Tore it down thinking I might have gotten a tooth off on the cam. Seemed good. While taking it apart I noticed while looking through the crank sensor hole that the reluctor wheel wasn't pressed on all the way. I didn't press the balancer on all the way, how I managed to mess that up Idk but I'm pretty sure that's the issue. No wonder my belt was squealing. And yeah I have someone tuning it for the new cam.[/QUOTE]
