Hello All,

The harmonic balancer on my F351 windsor is completely rusted. I've used a wire wheel and a scraper on the HB to no avail.

Is it possible to fine tune my timing by ear?

The engine is in a boat, and I'd like to run it under load and tweak the distributor as it has a slight miss at 2000rpm.

The 4bbl holley is brand new, as are the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I have electronic ign.

I "THINK" the engine is supposed to be timed at 10 BTDC.

Any suggestions????

OH..I don't know...a different balancer maybe?? Yes the engine can be timed by ear if your really good at it.

I thought about that....but it sounds like a hassle and I don't want to spend the ching.........Plus, as it's in a boat the thing is damn near impossible to work on.

It's very close now...but I think I can get it better. TY
