I would think the Big Block 1970-72 Camaro spring would be a good choice. This size spring (5.5" dia) is also a common circle track spring, you can pick them by spring rate this way and they are fairly inexpensive ($50 ea), especially compared to restoration house prices.
TRW and Moog sell the stock replacements, check Speedway Motors and JR Motorsports for the circle track replacements in 50 lb or 100 lb increments. Virtually any circle track supplier has these.
Is this to be a street car or drag car? There is a big difference in spring rate.
