I'm very much a newbie when it comes to engine swapping and compatability. BUT! I want to swap a 305 or 350 into a late sixties early 70's mercedes. I'm already talking to the mercedes nuts about which model best suits my needs but I'm baffled as to which tranny's are compatible with which engines. I'm really looking to have it a manual transmission preferably a 5 speed but this isn't as big of a deal as the fact that it's manual. Any body willing to help a new guy out who wants to learn

Engine tranny

Get the whole 350 and manual tranny from a chev in a wrecking yard..Better yet if you can find a wrecked car with a 350 manual combo then you get all the pieces that you will need..then it is a matter of fabricating engine and tranny mounts..wiring and plumbing to get get it done..

This can get real spendy if you have to buy individual parts..

There ya go..
