I am looking for a bellhousing for an 11" clutch setup for a BBC. The 621 bellhousing I need is in short supply, but the 12" truck bellhousing seems to be plentiful. Anyone know if they would work in a 72 Chevelle? Would there be fitment, or clutch fork alignment problems?

Should work, not absolutly sure...............

I would suggest you bite the bullet and get an aftermarket scattershield. If you are going to abuse it, it's much easier on the feet.

Truck bellhousing has a larger hole than the car so won't work without a bushing. I would look for another bellhousing.

An aftermarket steel bellhousing would be the easiest and safest.

Unless you are doing a numbers matching car, I wouldn't worry about the proper casting number.

On the posted diagram it should be made clear if we are talking about bellhousing for a muncie/sag built truck trans or car trans as they are different.

Thanks for the reply's all. I just wanted to add a little more info, the Trans that I have is a Borg Warner Super T-10 out of and early 70's Camaro. The Trans that Chevy started using after they dropped the Muncie's. I believe that it has the same dimensions as the Muncie. They both have the "Big Hole", but I was curious as to whether or not they would fit in my trans tunnel without issues, and if I would have clutch Z-bar problems.

Just found out that the Chevy Borg Warner T-10/Muncie M20,21,22/Borg Warner Super T-10/ Richmond Super T-10 center diameters are 4.684" for car transmissions.
