Hey guys currently have a 383 stroker with the following set up:

-4.030 bore
KB 18cc pistons
5.7 rod
235/249 5.22/.509 107 lsa at .050 Camshaft
0 deck height
9.6:1 Static compression
8.27:1 dynamic compression with my cam
Stock 64cc swirl port heads
Weiand X-CELerator Single Plane intake manifold

Looking for a great set of heads (give me best heads and lets say an okay set that will do the job) and matched intake and carb setup to make the most power out of this little 383 street motor.

What would be a good size carb to run on this ?

What would be the max rpm i could see out of this? Solid roller?

great heads out of the box,AFR 180s good cheap heaps that require porting,GM vortec, anything in between will cost and perform accordingly.750 cfm carb,manifold depends,performer is a good place to start with that small cam you mentioned,If its Hydraulic flat tappet,consider upgrading

I am well satisfied with my TF 23* 64cc heads, Performer RPM intake, and Lars rebuilt Q-Jet. 383 stroker.

I am running a CC XE274H flat tappet cam. Static CR is 10.3.

Running 89 octane BP fuel.

I knew what line of cam it was as soon as I saw the vast seperation in the dual pattern and then the 107LSA.

In my opinion the best head for you combnation would be the AFR-195 CNC comp heads, but here are a few decent alternatives that dont cost quite as much; DART pro 1 200cc, RHS pro action 200cc, Brodix IK200's, Or even a bit cheaper would be the DART Iron Eagle Platinum 200cc heads. In my opinion you need to go with a dual plane intake like the performer rpm, and then I honestly believe that you would be best off going with a 750 vac secondary carb instead of the double pumper carb.

Bingo again!!!
Rule of Thumb: Manual trans or 3000+ converter, use double pumper.
Auto with tighter converter, use vacuum secondaries.

Let start out by asking what is your main purpose for this motor? Also what car or truck is this motor going in. List the vehicle, weight, the stall converter size, rear end gear ratio, and rear tire size.

Cam is a retrofrit Hydraulic roller. It has roller lifters with the stock non roller rockers.

The car is a 1969 Camaro RS. It has a 4 speed trans with a 3.90 rear gear. 295 street tire used only for street weekend warrior.

So i was thinking 195 65cc AFR street heads? or competition heads?

If its a street car the vacuum secondaries are a much nicer option than a DP carb. I'd go with a nice VS carb and the rest of the combo you have, Dart and Profiler are nice heads too as are Brodix and others.

OK, so this is the cam....
12-601-8 - Thumpr
Intake closes at 39.5 degrees after bottom dead center @0.050" tappet lift.
If static compression ratio is truly 9.6:1, then dynamic compression ratio is 8.274:1 on the KB calculator. Motor should be able to run on regular pump gas with that DCR.

Hydraulic rollers, due to their weight, will normally limit revs to around 6200 unless you also use a rev kit in the lifter valley.
The double pumper should work ok with a manual trans 4-spd....... RPM is the correct intake to use....... 3.90 gear should work ok with that cam....... 90% drag strip, I'd use comp heads. 90% street, I'd use street heads.

I have an 89 block, what style AFR heads would i use?
These:
AFR - Airflow Research 1041 AFR SB-Chevy Street Aluminum Cylinder Heads

or can i use the style with the non center valve cover bolt holes?

And for the double pumper carb do u reccomend mechanical or vacuum secondaries?
a double pumper is mechanical secondaries, vacuum secondary carbs only have one accelerator pump circut.

Any style of heads will work with that block, you're probably best off avoiding center bolt valve covers.
