I'm have a tough time trying to figure out what torque converter to use in my Dart. The engine combo is: 440, Eddy rpm heads, Eddy torker II intake, and a Comp Cam which specs at 275/284 advertised duration
219/235 @.50
lift .462 int .482 ext
c/l 110
power from 1800-5500 rpm
This is NOT a race car the only time this car will see the strip is if I happen to drive by one. I currently have a Coan 3000-3200 stall in the car now, and I HATE IT. The rear gear is 3.23, and I'm not open to changing it. I live in North Dakota every thing here is 100 miles in any direction. I have been looking into the mopar performance 1900-2100 or the 2250-2350 stall converters. I don't have 4 or 5 hundred bucks to spend and desperately need some help as the one I have now just ain't cutting it. Any advice is greatly appreciated. By the way I think I cooked the trans, and converter in Deadwood SD at Kool Deadwood Nites a few weeks ago, as now the car has no get up and go. :(

Well, I have learned alot about converters on this site. The 1900-2100 stall is pretty much a stock size. Because your cam makes power from 1800-5500, I would suggest the 2250 -2350 one. I have a ******* Performance in my drag truck now and it works great. They sell pretty much all their better converters for $295.00 + shipping. These have anti-balloon plates that unless you are running NOS or a superchager, you won't need so you may be able to get it even cheaper. They have a website and also sell on ebay, just google them.
