I RECENTLY PURCHACED A TRI POWER SET UP (OVAL PORT ) 427/400 HP
TODAY INSTALLED ON 454 BUT MY HEAT RISERS CENTER AR NOT COVERED BY INTAKE ,GASKET DOES COVER BUT NOT INTAKE I ALREADY
SPENT 700 DOLLART ON REBUILDING CARBS NEW FUEL LINES AND LINKAGE
SO I DONT WANT TO GO WITH DIFFERENT INTAKE AND CARBS WILL I HAVE TO CHANGES HEADS OR WILL THIS WORK AS IS:confused:

It is a standard deck crate motor but is dated 1978 heads are338781 113 cc stock head whitch i will need after break in this winter I will be changeing to 671 crager blower spring so these heads produce 7.9 comprission i already have blowers 1 is crager the other is mooningham dont know whick i will use yet i will try to post pictures of head and intake dont seem to have exaust leah at passage since it had a egr valve on factory intake but it does have water leak

Thanks for the help i guess i came along 60 + years to late i will have to wait until grand children come to visit mabe they can show me how to post pictures

Thanks for help solved problem with heads not sealing, i replaced them with pro comp aluminum without heat risers and aluminum water pump saves 100 pounds on nose of truck and i can use my tripower intake also have seven pictures in my jornal

The intake would have worked on the 781's. The part of the crossover that's exposed doesn't have any exhaust flowing through it.

X2 on the 4-barrel vs. tripower as far as making good power. Basically the tripower is all looks, but it DOES look good!

Tri-powers are more than just eye-candy. They carburate beautifly and will allow you to get away with murder regarding too much cam and too little compression.

My best friend bought a nos straight from the Chevy dealer in 1979. If my mind still works, it was about 1K. We bolted it on after school and were out that night. Put thousands of miles on it that year.

It later got stolen from the shop where he worked while his Chevelle had some other intake installed. We still talk about that now and then.

yea i was joking about eye candy mine are on a 454 /.030 over 1/4 stooker cranh steel rods 9 to 1 fprged flattpps aluminum heads 2.25 i /1.88 ex 3 in exaust,comp roller rockers comp cam blower cam the pictures i posted does not show the heads i just got these installed this week turbo 400 331 12 bolt it makes more power than i have traction i am running 12x15 on rear 5x15 front it is in paint now changeing from blue to guards red should be finished approx 2 weeks will posy more photos thanks for good words

do you still have chevelle,that is what these are for orignally for 69 corvette 427/400 i wish we could buy for a grand now that barely covers center carb now i will be runnung these until spring hope to have my chevelle ready by then it is 66 SS auto th 400 with air 427 3x2 it has 4 wheel disc brakes they were added before i bought it ,when i remove tri power i have a 671 bds blower 2x4 i will be replaceing it with more eye candy lol

How does the saying go ,you cant please some of the people None of the time , I have never seen any guidelines I will remove my post and pictures I didnt realize i was taking a typing or writing class

Please don't get mad and stomp out! Often times things written can be taken the wrong way, regardless of which person meant well. I think both sides got misunderstood here, so we proabably should calm down and take a breath.

As you can see above i did not use ANY caps so i really dont know what Mr know it all was talking about unless it was the first ever post i made it was in caps but not since
