I got a question. what do you look for when you bleed your brakes? I just got done bleeding my brakes on my 79 t/a and im not what you would call a pro but what kind of flow should come out and how do i know if i got all the air out? Thanks for all your help!! :thumbup:

first off how did you do it? like what order did you go through the wheels. The best way to know if the air is out is when air doesn't squirt when you open the bleeder. Another way to check is hop in the car all bleeders closed and fluid toped off, pump the pedal a few times to drain the vacuum booster, with the car off, and hold the pedal it should be firm... now pump if fast 2 or 3 times, if it pumps up some then you still have air.

first of all i did it the way i have always been taught is go from the farthest wheel to the closest to the master cylinder and second, on the front brakes, they shot out more fluid. Does that mean i have air in the back ones or is that just the way it is? and one other question, if you pump the brakes with the cap off will it suck air back in the lines even when it is full of brake fluid? :drunk:

Then i also did the back brakes one more time because i didnt know if i did it sucsessfuly.

fronts operate on higher pressure, thus the shot will be a stronger one. With cap off master full, it will not suck air in, you just run the risk of having fluid come out and hit your paint, then eating it up. sounds like you did it right and every thing is all good

Thanks for the info!!! one other thing before i forget, were is the main spots that a leak could occur? so heres the story, i just got the car and really didn't pay any attention to it because i got it from a reliable source but it must have set for a lot time and the small section of the cylinder (i really don't know what the deferents is on the large to the small section) was completely dry so i put more in and about 2 weeks later i noticed that some leaked out any ideas were it could be leaking from because i cant find it??
