Hey everybody.

I got a small block ford from probably the late 70's, early 80's. Where can I find the block casting number? Or any other number that might tell me more about the motor.

I know the tranny is from a 77 Mustang...its a C6.

Look on the passenger side of the block where the starter would be the #s are there, If the starter is bolted on you will need to remove it to get the numbers. I dont remember them putting a C6 in the 77 era mustangs they ran C4 and 4 speeds. Cole

Thanks I will get on that when my garage is cleaned.

As for the Mustang...C6 I didn't beleive it either I thought it was out of a truck since it was a C6...but I took the code to the Ford Racing dealer and it was from a Mustang II, I was shocked.
