I put some bondo body filler on a motorcycle tank to smooth out the raw metal and i dont know if its safe to just spray some 2k urathane primer over the bare metal and body filler or if i have to spray some sealer on it first.my plan was to spray the primer,let it sit a day or two,then scuff with 400,lay two different base colors and then clear.Will this work?

In a word, yes.

I am thinking your filler work will need some "surfacing" with 180 or so then go finer if you don't cut thru the primer. Or sand the whole thing with 180 and put another couple of coats of primer.

On a tank I would just spray about 3 coats of SPI epoxy on it let it dry good and sand working up to 400 wet and paint.
