Ok we have established that the tube/pipe bender from nothern tools is not a good choice for a roll bar project...Now is it worthy of an exhaust project and we will be doing more then one vehcile in a years time up to 2.5 inches..thanx

Probably not but the Pipe bender would not be able to make tight bends without drawing over a Mandrel. I would see a lot of crimped tubing in your future.

As the wall thickness of a tube gets thinner, it becomes harder to bend without kinking.

A mandrel bender is a very expensive tool, used they start at about 30,000 dollars. The mandrel and wiper and shoe all need to be sized to your exact size of tubing and bend radius.

The JD squared as was mentioned in one of your other threads won't do thinwall very well either. (if you are trying to get REALLY tight bends, like under 6R)

There are ways to do tight bends in tubing, but none will get as tight as a mandrel bender..

Here is another discussion RE bending tube with cheap benders.

You can buy exhaust tubing in prebent Us, circles, 45degree and so on bends and the stright tubing to to make the runs between them. Plan it out, cut and weld.
