I am installing a TCI brake system in my 36 ford pickup and have encountered a problem that no one seems to have an answer to. The brake pedal arm hits the frame after installation. I have notched it in approx 3/4 of an inch and it still hits. Has any one else had this problem and if so how far did they have to notch the frame to accept the pedal?

I have seen the TCI set up installed in the old ford style frames and never noticed any interfearance problems. Have you installed the cab/floor board to see how far the pedal will return? That has been the return stop on all that I have built and the frame was never an issue. This may sound dumb, but which side of the frame rail did you install the mounting plate? If it was inadvertently mounted on the left side (outboard on the X member) you would be restricted and believe me, I have seen some attempted to be mounted this way.
