Ok so I got a 454 out of a 79 Burban and I wanted to se what heads it had so I took off the valve cover and it has the 781 oval ports and when I was tightening up the bolts on the top of the valve cover all the way on the right snapped of flush with the top of the head and I have no idea how to get it out please help

EZ Outs might be the answer.

There is a tool called an Easy Out which may help you.

Any auto parts store or a Sears store would have them.

They come with drill bits and a tool you insert into the small hole you drill and then you turn it to the left and with a little luck you just might find the rest of the broken bolt will come out without using an heat on it first.

Thanks for the info guys I'll try to weld a nut on it the remainder of the bolt is just shy of the top of the head but their good heads aren't they?

If there's enough left just slot the top with a dremel and use a screw driver to back it out.

The 781's can be decent heads with enough work (ie time and or money).
