I bought a 350 buick long block and put in a more agressive Scheider cam and ran the engine in a 1970 Skylark convertible. The car would top 135 m.p.h. The problem was and is that it would not start when hot until I turned back the timing. Then when it was cold it would not start until I advanced the timing back up. The only thing I can figure is the block was line bored and this created slop in the timing chain. It is really sloppy and this was the second one . They are all sloppy. Does anyone know of oversize timing sprockets for a 350 Buick. I finally pulled the mill and put in a 396 Chev and it starts beautiful. I would like to solve the Buick problem so I can sell it with a good conscience
Thanks, Clint
