Ok guys Im new to this forum! So im sure this question has been asked before
We are re building our engine this winter and just wondering what be the best cam for torque?
We run a 2 barrel carb and motor is pretty much stock. We run 456 gears
We did have a cam put in it this year it is 415 lift 195 duration. I was told that this is not a good torque cam

Depends at what rpm range you wan the engine to produce the torque.

What is the rpm range used while runing around the track?
Are there any rules for camshaft specs that you have to follow?
What is the eninges compression ratio? Arre you willing the change that to get more power with a better camshaft?

there are no rules on the motor and we run all out usally not sure on the rpm.
We want to try and keep it mostly stock. There is not alot of money in derbing so we dont want to put a lot of money in it
