I have a c6 in my 66 bird, it has started slipping in reverse, a rebuild is a couple months off but my question is...... has anyone used the adjusting band? My book states to tighten until it over runs and then back of 11/2 turns. Does this help?

that is the intermediate band. it is used for 2nd gear.
