hello
I have two camaro subframe . one is a 71 the other is 74 .trying to put lower control arms on the 71 sub from the the newer one . There seems to be a differece in the dia . of the bolts . Why is this ? and what should i do to make it work ?

the holes are different probably because GM just changes things... talk to a front end shop... always go to an expert....even on the dumbest things...you know what they say about asking dumb questions...... lol..

From what I barely know, 68-72 are the only years that cross over with your 71. 489 is right, if you have to use the 74 arms, better check with a front end shop, the geometry may be different also..

67-9 is a different front suspension, it usually interchanges with nova, but not later 1970-81 camaro :nono:

I think they did change the bolt size. Just use the bolt from the 74 drill out the lower control arm mount hole to the proper size.Dimensionaly the arms are the same.

There is a difference of close to 1" between a 71 upper contol arm mount and a 74 /75 on . Plus the arm pivot bolts are not the same diameter. I need a later model subframe to match the control arms . ughh
