Will a 55-57 Chevy passenger car center section fit in a 56 Chevy pickup housing?

Not 100% positive but I think the only thing that is interchangable in the two is the driveshaft yoke and some brake parts. The truck rearend is beefier and I don't think the axles were the same between the two. The truck axles I believe had larger bearings. There may also be an issue with the # of splines on the axles.

I had a 56 cameo and was told the car axles would fit to use 5 bolt wheels
