I have a 1991 firebird its has a stock hood im looking at replacing it with fiberglass hood what I need to know is what a stock hood weighs <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

Take it off and put it on your bathroom scale, that will give you a better idea. Shouldn't be but 40-55lbs if that, but don't take my word for it, thats just a guess. Havn't had any intrest in any Firebird after 1981 camaros after '73.

the fiberglass hood weighs 69 lbs would the fiberglass hood weigh more then the stock hood????

Damn! Pontiac is notorious for heavy hoods, but I would have thought they would be a bit lighter 10+ years down the line from my frikin 85lb '77T/A <img src="graemlins/drunk.gif" border="0" alt="[drunk]" /> If the 'glass hood is 65lbs the steel one is probably 75-85lbs

that was my guess are maybe more I work in a body shop and I have replaced those dam things and they are heavy

A '90 firebird is a 3rd generation? The squared off night rider look? or is it one of the newer rounded ones? The newer rounded ones started in '93? Hell like I said I stopped paying attention after '81. I think I was confusing the two body desighns. Bare with me, my brain has been taxed to the limit the past few days <img src="graemlins/drunk.gif" border="0" alt="[drunk]" />

HK<hr></blockquote>it is a 3rd generation and I beleve the hood is the same a night rider if not it is close the nose of the 91-92 or diffent and it is rounded more then the others in the 3rd gen

na its not a ferrari its a original body based on ferrari and lambo designs
