My new 383 has a Crosswind manifold sitting on the my workbench and while I was out in the shop today thought I would see if a Q-jet would fit the manifold. I wanted to try the Q-jet on the engine first to see if the cfm was gonna work out ok but the bolt pattern for the carb is to wide. All the adapters I could find at Jegs were to put a Holley or Eldebrock to a quad- jet manifold, I need to go the other way.
I like a quad-jet because the mechanical secondary.
I would like to guess with a 710 cfm Holley and go but that is a lot of change to throw at it. Any ideas on making the q-jet fit ? I'm sure it's done all the time but I can't find it.
