I'm building a chevy 350 for a boat motor, 202/213 cam, 9:1 compression, pretty straightforward stuff.

When it comes to carbs, I much prefer the Qjet, but the height of the engine is very important so it fits under the cowl. While height alone is never a good reason to choose a carb, in this case (being a boat motor) it won't make much difference in power or drivability which one goes on, so I may have to pick the smallest one. Since its a low-rpm small block I can get by with 500cfm if any of them get shorter in the smaller flow ratings.

Which one of the mainstream carbs is shortest from the flange to where the air cleaner sits? Qjet, Carter/Edelbrock, or Holley?
